Hello again everyone. Thought it was time I gave you a little update on what has been happening at the centre.
We welcomed some new temporary groups to the centre in April, they were Baby Theatre, Sing-a-lings and DiddiDance. I'm so pleased to announced that Sing-a-lings and DiddiDance have loved being at the centre and have decided to stay with us, which is fantastic news. I will be creating a page for them on our website, so keep an eye out for that. We also welcomed back in April our long term regular groups Dexi's Dance Academy, Taekwondo & Jiggy Wrigglers. Its so great to have people back in the centre again and see regular faces. Our Get up & Go group run by Havant Borough Council on A Wednesday are also set to come back next Week along with Rock School. We have had lots of enquiries and bookings for after June 21st for events and I cannot wait to welcome the public back to the centre. Lastly on the 4th May I came back to work - Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm (office hours) and have gladly accepted the role of centre manager. So if there is anything I can help you with or if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me on 02392230330 or email office@springwoodcommunitycentre.com Take care everyone and I will update you when I have more news for you. For now, stay safe, be cautious and see you soon. Leila WOW!! What a year!!
I hope you are all keeping well during these still very uncertain times but, lets hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel and its not a freight train we can see!! As I write this it is a cold and windy day, yet spring supposedly arrived just a few days ago but, I will be going home to put the heating on for sure. Lets hope the weather improves so we can visit one another in our gardens from next week. We don't have a great deal of news to update you on at the moment. Some of our groups for children are allowed back from 12th April 2021 which brings lots of hope that we will continue to be able to welcome you all back very soon. Bouncy Bears will be holding an open day on Saturday 15th May between 12pm & 2pm; for anyone who is looking for a Pre-School for their little one, this is a great opportunity to come and meet the team while the children can play. More details are over on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/bouncybearspreschool I will come back to you as soon as I have any more news but for now, stay safe, have a wonderful Easter & I hope the spring brings you all lots of good and happy things. We hope to work closely with you on future projects. We have had a fabulous time with our festive celebrations here at the centre. We began with a 'festive afternoon tea' on Sunday 17th November. Guests were welcomed with festive tunes playing and a variety of sweet & savoury treats, tea, coffee & Christmas crackers.
Our volunteers from Springwood Families hosted the annual children's Christmas party on Sunday 1st December. The children made a variety of Christmas crafts, boogied and played games courtesy of *FitnFunkey*, enjoyed some food from the buffet and visited Father Christmas in his grotto. Every child must have been very very good, as they all received a gift from Father Christmas. The celebrations continued on Friday 13th December, with a beautiful 5 course hot & cold buffet. Our fantastic volunteer, Sue and centre manager Jennifer, worked incredibly hard to provide a feast fit for royalty. Soup and warm bread for starters, followed by a hot & cold buffet, with a selection of meats, salmon, new potatoes, pasta, savouries, salad & much more. Christmas pudding, profiteroles, trifle were amongst several options for a sweet treat, then guests enjoyed cheese & crackers and completed their lunch with tea/coffee, mince pies and mint chocolates. Guests also enjoyed a glass or two of red or white wine to accompany their meal. We also had live music provided by 'Robbie' and plenty of dancing took place.
