- Provision of learning, recreation, support and information opportunities
- Assisting in the development of Community Projects
- Supporting existing and new special interest groups
- Providing a meeting space for groups in the community
- Actively encouraging members of the community to participate in the running of the centre
- Assisting people to develop responses to issues which affect them and their local community
- Every person has the right to equal access to services, information and resources.
- The Community Centre belongs to the local community and must be responsive to their needs.
- People have the ability to help themselves but they might need some support and information to get started.
- Fees are necessary to cover the running costs of the centre activities but they will be kept to a minimum.
